Our ingredients: CLAYS

Clay has been used around the world for centuries by indigenous people as an important medicinal and cosmetic tool.
Clays are found in nature all over the world and come in a variety of colours such as red, green, white, grey, and can range in texture from coarse and heavy to fine and fluffy.  The different colours of clays occur because of their natural mineral content.

White Cosmetic Clay (also known as Kaolin clay) is one of the most versatile clays, and is also the mildest of all cosmetic clays.  It is commonly found in skincare preparations and cosmetics because of its gentle nature, mineral content, absorbent properties, and ability to “fix” scents. White clay is made up of fine clay particles, and has a lightweight fluffy consistency. This clay will gently draw impurities from the skin without removing natural oils while simultaneously exfoliating, cleansing, and stimulating circulation.  White clay is suitable for all skin types; whether it be oily, blemish prone, normal, sensitive, dry, or mature skin.
Kaolin clay gives soap a smooth creamy lather.

French Pink Clay is considered to be the mildest of all the clays and works well for normal, sensitive and mature skin types. Its unique composition includes Kaolinite, Iron, Illite, Montmorillonite and Calcite.
French Pink Clay can be used to cleanse and detoxify the skin, remove dead skin cells and create and overall refreshed appearance. It can also be used to treat acne and other skin ailments; poor blood and/or lymph circulation and sun damaged skin. It is most widely used in cosmetic manufacturing.
French Pink Clay can be used in detoxifying body wraps, soap making, face masks, mineral based or cream based cleansers, face or body scrubs, cosmetics and facial powders.

French Green Clay comes from the sedimentation of Silico-aluminum, its colouring the result of the oxides contained in these rocks. Its unique composition includes Iron, Silica, Aluminum, Magnesium, Calcium, Titanium, Sodium and Potassium.
French Green Clay absorbs and removes impurities from the skin, stimulating blood flow to create healthy and glowing skin. When prepared as a mask, the clay dries on the skin causing pores to tighten and the skin to feel firm, toned and refreshed. French Green Clay can be used in poultices to treat arthritis, sore muscles, and sprains; in ready-to-use pastes for application to cuts, bruises, insect bites, stings, and minor burns; and mineral baths for stress relief. It is suitable for all skin types.

Rhassoul Clay is an exceptional clay with multipurpose assets. It is mined in the fertile Atlas Mountains of Morocco where it has been used for over 1400 years as a skin conditioner, soap, and shampoo. This clay has a long history, and was used in ancient Rome and Egypt by those of nobility.
Rhassoul Clay's most impressive properties in skin improvement are its capacity of absorption due to its high level of ions exchange. It is very high in trace minerals such as silica, magnesium, iron, calcium, potassium and sodium, making it truly one of the finest treasures for pampering your skin.  Because of the high mineral content, astringent properties, and absorption properties, Rhassoul clay is wonderful and effective clay for cleansing, detoxification, and for general skin care treatments.  In clinical tests, Rhassoul has been shown to be effective on skin elasticity, clogged pores, removes dead skin layers, removed surface oil from skin, improves skin clarity and appearance, and reduces flakiness and dryness of both the scalp and skin.
